Mississippi man accused of severely beating Huntsville child | News
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- A Mississippi man is in the Huntsville-Madison County Metro jail charged with aggravated child abuse of a 5-year-old.
A Madison County Judge set a $500,000 bond for John Mark Davis of Columbia, Mississippi.
Court documents state Davis is accused of beating the child and causing injuries including a lacerated liver, lacerated spleen, and perforated bowel.
According to investigators, the child had to undergo emergency surgery. He was unconscious and required a ventilator.
Davis has a court appearance scheduled for January 10, 2013.
