Redstone Report: AMC Band rocks out for AMCOM employees | News

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- The Army Material Command Band on Redstone Arsenal has around 40 members.

There are various groups within the big band, ranging from marching to jazz, but recently, it was the AMC rock band that got together to play a couple holiday numbers for AMCOM employees.

Staff Sergeant Renatta America is one of the lead singers in the AMC rock band. She describes their way of doing things as a little more untraditional.

The band played all kinds holiday classics, but with a little extra rock and roll flare.

For Staff Sergeant America, it wasn't just about the performance, but the atmosphere too.

"I think it's just important for people to be good to each other and come together and enjoy each other for at least a small amount of time," he said.

Come December 26th, the band's set list will stop featuring Christmas songs, but that doesn't mean they'll stop rocking. The band plays at all the ceremonies on the post and even tries to get out in the community and play other events too.
