Amy Bishop Anderson's appellant's brief is due by January 28.

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- The Alabama Criminal Court of Appeals notified Amy Bishop Anderson that her appellant's brief is due by January 28.

The court received needed documents from Madison County Circuit Court on December 31, 2012.

Amy Bishop Anderson is appealing her conviction and sentence for capital murder.

She shot six colleagues during a Biology Department meeting at UAH in February 2010.

Bishop Anderson pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted murder and capital murder.

Alabama law requires a capital murder plea to go before a jury. Bishop Anderson's jury found her guilty of capital murder and sentenced her to life in prison without parole.

Bishop Anderson is now appealing that verdict. She is currently in Tutwiler Women's Prison.
