HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- A Madison County Circuit judge approved a motion filed by Amy Bishop Anderson's appellant attorney requesting the court send a transcript to the Alabama Criminal Court of Appeals.
In a motion filed Tuesday, Attorney Ronald Smith requested that record be supplemented to include the "plea colloquy". The plea colloquy is the transcript of the conversation between a judge and defendant during the plea hearing.
Amy Bishop Anderson pleaded guilty to capital murder and attempted murder. She shot six colleagues at UAH in February 2012. Three of the victims died.
In Alabama, a capital murder plea must go before a jury. Amy Bishop Anderson's jury found her guilty and sentenced her to life in prison.
Bishop Anderson is appealing that verdict.
Bishop Anderson's appellant's brief is due by January 28.
