HPD has successful surprise checkpoint | News
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- A surprise checkpoint by Huntsville Police ended with four arrests and hundreds of citations.
This weekend, police set up a checkpoint at Highway 72 and Jeff Road.
Police said they arrested two people for driving while intoxicated and two people on other charges.
Officers wrote 115 citations and impounded three vehicles.
Police said the checkpoint was part of a program aimed at reducing crashes at accident-prone areas.
