Huntsville residents voted in favor of an ad valorem tax.

Sixty-nine percent of voters chose to renew the tax for a total of 18,220 votes.

The money from the property tax will help fund Huntsville City Schools.

The tax has been in place since 1956 and must be voted on periodically.
