Customers and employees at the Panda Express on University Drive had their lunch hour interrupted when an SUV slammed into the building.

Police are investigating, trying to figure out what happened. Christopher Umbles, a Panda Express drive-thru employee, was directly in the path of the vehicle when it came into the building.

"I was sitting at the booth, eating on my break, and out of the corner of my eye, and noticed a car just crashing into the window," Umbles told WAFF just moments after the accident. "I just jumped up out of my seat and kind of hit the ground. It scared the crap out of me!"

Umbles said no one inside the restaurant was hurt. The woman behind the wheel of the SUV was shaken up, and left the scene in an ambulance.
